Playa Jardin – A Work of Art by the Canarian Artist César Manrique

The black, fine-sand beach lies on the coast of the tourist resort Puerto de la Cruz, near the famous Loro Parque, surrounded by exotic gardens and leisure facilities. Artificial reefs were built to prevent the waves from breaking on the shore. The beach is approx. 700 metres long and around 50 metres wide.

Playa Jardin is divided into three smaller beaches and guarantees swimming fun for young and old alike. In addition to breathtaking views of the Teide, the beach offers sun loungers and parasols that can be rented for a fee. There is also a children's playground for the little ones. Nearby, you will also find a beach restaurant and some bars & restaurants that are open daily.

Inspired by nature

"Playa Jardin" is a project by César Manrique. The Canarian artist was not only a painter and sculptor, but also an architect and environmentalist, and thus had a personal connection to nature. This is also reflected in his work of art, Playa Jardin. The work is characterised by the lush nature of Tenerife.

This beach also has the "Blue Flag" - a distinction awarded annually by the European Foundation for Environmental Education.
